DRI-CAL Particle Size Standards

A range of polymer microspheres primarily for instrument calibration requiring dry standards and not generally intended for dispersion in liquid media. Mean diameters from 5 to 100µm with narrow size distributions are now available, conveniently packed in 1g lots in dropper-tipped bottles. Mean diameters are certified and traceable to NIST.

DRI-CAL Particle Size Standards consist of polystyrene crosslinked with divinyl benzene and have a density of 1.05 g/cm3 and refractive index of 1.59 at 589nm

EZY-CAL Count and Size Standards

A series of ready to use, certified standards for validating particle counters with an absolute minimum of dilution or handling. They are suspensions of polymer microspheres in water with a concentration of 2000 particles per mL. A magnetic stir-bar is enclosed in each 100mL bottle for clean, convenient and direct sampling.

EZY-CAL standards consist of polymer microspheres with a density of 1.05 g/cm3 and refractive index of 1.59 at 540nm. Mean diameters from 2 to 70µm are available, all with narrow size distributions. The aqueous medium contains dispersing agents to keep particles from flocculating or adhering to surfaces within the instrument system.

COUNT-CAL Count Precision Standards

A cost-effective and convenient range of products for validating particle counter developed for manufacturers of parenteral drugs and ophthalmic solutions seeking interim verification to USP <788> and <789>.

Available in mean sizes from 2 to 70 µm, they are optimised for use with light obscuration particle counters and other low concentration applications.

Particle Counter Size Standards

A new series of NIST traceable size standards for calibration and validation of counters used for monitoring air- or liquid-borne particle contamination. They consist of a dilute suspension of polymer microspheres in low-residue aqueous suspension and are supplied in dropper-tipped 15mL bottles and accompanied by a certificate of calibration. Mean diameters range from 0.1 to 100 microns.

PHARM-TROL Particle Count Control

PHARM-TROL™ Particle Count Control is a product containing NIST traceable size standards with a measured particle count. The product was developed for manufacturers of parenteral drugs and ophthalmic solutions seeking interim verification of USP <788> and <789> (Particulate Matter in Injections and Particulate Matter in Ophthalmic Solutions). The particle diameters are traceable to the standard meter through the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).


PHARM-TROL™ is prepared with the same exacting procedures as the USP Count Reference Standard and provides process control data for particle counting consistency and verification of size calibration.
