Particles for Special Applications

SURF-CAL Particle Deposition Standards

Designed to simplify the preparation of particle scanner calibration wafers in the user’s own facility. Particles are deposited on specially selected wafers which are then used to check the performance of particle defect scanners at critical stages of the manufacturing process.

SURF-CAL particles are suspended in deionised, filtered water at a concentration of 3 x 108 particles per mL. Particle sizes cover the entire range of interest from 0.07µm to 3.0µm. The products are ready for use with automated deposition systems such as those made by MSP Corporation or VLSI Standards Inc.

HEPA-CHECK Filter Challenge Particles

Being non-toxic and leaving no oily residue, HEPA-CHECK solid polystyrene microspheres solve both contamination and health risks associated with traditional DOP or oil based filter testing.

Supplied as 25mL concentrate for dilution into one gallon of clean water for nebulisation, particle sizes from 0.17µm up to 0.26µm are available.

Smoke Detector Challenge Kits for Cleanrooms

Designed for convenient testing of cleanroom smoke alarms (e.g. to NFPA Standard 72) without the disadvantages inherent in using oil-based sprays. The solid polymer microspheres used in these challenge kits remove the problem of contamination and provide a more reproducible challenge than natural smoke.
