BI-870 Dielectric Constant Meter
The accuracy of zeta potential
determinations by electrophoresis depends on accurate
knowledge of the dielectric constant of the liquid
in which the particles or droplets are dispersed.
For water and many other common pure liquids,
values are sometimes available in the literature.
But for less common liquids, this is rarely the
case. Moreover, there is no satisfactory and simple
equation for calculating values for mixtures of
liquids from their component values.
The Brookhaven BI-870 Dielectric Constant Meter
provides the simple answer. Simply insert the
probe into the liquid or liquid mixture, adjust
two controls on the front panel and read the dielectric
constant from the display.
